Am 27. Mai 1964 eröffnete CUBANA mit der Ankunft
einer Bristol "Britannia" (CU-T669) einen regulären
Liniendienst zwischen Havanna und Berlin. Die Flüge wurden dann
später bis zu drei Mal in der Woche mit einem Zwischenstopp in
Brüssel/BRU mit Iljuschin IL-62M und zuletzt mit Douglas DC-10-30
durchgeführt, welche von der AOM
aus Frankreich angemietet wurden.

Am 23. Mai 1999 erfolgte dann der letzte Linienflug
mit der Ankunft der DC 10-30 (F-ODLZ), fast auf den Tag genau 35 Jahre
nach dem Erstflug.

Die Fluggesellschaft nutzte den Flughafen aber auch
als Zwischenlandeplatz für die Maschinen, welche zur Grundüberholung
nach Kiew überführt wurden und auch auf dem Rückweg
nach Kuba legte man gerne einen "Technical stop" ein. So
konnte man über die Jahre fast die gesamte Flotte an Regionalflugzeugen
vom Typ AN-24 und 26, als auch die YAK-40 und 42 im Landeanflug auf
Schönefeld beobachten.

(CU-T669) on May 27th. 1964, CUBANA begun a regular line service between
Havanna and Berlin. These flights were later enforced up to three
times a week via Brussels/BRU with Ilyushin IL-62M and at the end
with aircraft of type Douglas DC 10-30, which were leased from
AOM
(France).

However, on May 23rd. 1999 after 35 years of regular
line service the last arrival of CUBANA at Berlin/SXF was noted with
the visit of a DC 10-30 (F-ODLZ).

Furthermore the airline was using the airport for technical
stops with aircraft of type AN-24/26 and YAK-40/42 during ferry flights
to Kiev for a basic overhaul and also on the way back to Cuba.
