Am 25. Juli 2002 erhielt diese Maschine dann die deutsche Registration und wurde von den LH-Technikern für den Überführungsflug nach Hamburg vorbereitet. Hierbei offenbarten sich viele Mängel, die durch die lange Abstellzeit unter widrigsten klimatischen Bedingungen auftraten. So mussten zum Beispiel zahlreiche Computer-Bildschirme im Cockpit ausgetauscht werden. Am 20. August flog dieser A340 dann zu seinem neuen Standort, nach fast vier Jahren Abstellzeit in SXF !!

On July 25th. 2002 this aircraft got the german registration and was then prepared for the ferry flight to Hamburg. On this occasion many lacks revealed themselves, that appeared through the long term storage under most unfavorable climatic conditions. For example, numerous computer screens had to be exchanged in the cockpit. Then on August 20th. this A340 flew to its new location after almost four years of storage at SXF !!
